EXPLORE GYULA

Gyula is located in the southeastern region of Hungary, in the county of Békés, and is the second most populous town in the count. Due to its proximity to Transylvania, it is also known as the Gateway to Transylvania. With a history dating back nearly 800 years, the city boasts many historical and cultural traditions and sights.

The symbol of the city is the only intact brick castle in Central Europe, which tells the story of nearly 700 years of history in the Castle Museum. Throughout the year, there are many programs to choose from in the Gyula Castle, and the Gyula Castle Theater operates within the castle walls, providing cultural experiences.

Gyula is known as the city of waters, as it is located on the left bank of the Fehér-Kőrös river, and its freshwater channel runs through the city, right in front of our Viktória Apartment. It has become a famous spa town due to its medicinal waters, providing relaxation and experiences suitable for all ages in the Gyulai Castle Bath and Aquapalace.

Besides its numerous historical landmarks, Gyula boasts abundant natural beauty as well. Whether on foot, on a bicycle, or by boat, you can discover great places for active leisure.
